Responsible for the overall compliance risk management process for the organization.

Ensures that technical advice and guidance to bank management and staff is provided in sync with business and that compliance objectives are achieved.

Directs compliance staff in the identification, measurement, and monitoring of compliance risks within the organization.

Responsible for board reporting and interaction with external regulatory agencies.

Possess excellent and thorough understanding of the overall bank and strategic plan and direction.

Have the skills and knowledge to advise, train and raise awareness amongst management in regards to risk related to compliance management.

Organize and facilitate training sessions related to overall compliance and hot spots identified through audits and other regulatory changes that are imposed.

Alert management of potential areas of vulnerability or risk, and work with management and operations to develop contingency plans.

Ensure issues related to compliance are evaluated, monitored, managed and resolved in an appropriate manner.

Ensure monitoring programs are in place to measure efficiency and to identify potential areas for improvement.

Five years of comparable work experience in banking.

Undergraduate degree preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

CRCM ( Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) designation is desirable but not required.

Thorough understanding of compliance and consumer protection laws pertaining to all aspects of banking.

Thorough understanding of AML/KYC/BSA requirements.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and risk assessment.
